Giorgi (b. 1984), formerly of the fashion world, finds her design and merchandising background inform her current abstract expressionist and figurative painting styles. Working from her Atlanta studio, her process is organic and defined by her attention to color, texture, and gesture. Giorgi produces work in a flurry of thought and emotion and prefers to mix colors directly on the studio floor. Her body of work exemplifies a push toward innovative use of textural materials including large-scale works on custom-designed linen canvases.
